My writing shack

For the past twenty years, I've worked on Hollywood films alongside my husband, taking us from the world of Narnia to the Marvel Universe and beyond. Living in Southern California, I love juggling all the lovely life moments—from raising kids, dogs, cats (and a slew of other pets) to writing, making art, and adventuring near and far!

Since the second grade, I've always been drawn to stories, wanting to be an animator and then an editor. After years immersed in the wonderful world of film editing, where I continually learn the craft of storytelling...

Writing fiction gives me the opportunity to direct a film in the reader's mind.

My favorite narratives are the ones which peel back layers of complex characters exposing their imperfect, funny, frustrating flaws that make us all human. I crave stories about the overlooked supporting characters and want to see the Charlotte Lucases get their win!

Twelve Months of June is my debut novel. It grew out of my love for character-driven stories and the idea that sometimes the person standing most firmly in the way of the life we want is ourselves.
